Access to BankCV.com
1.1 How do I get access to this service?

top

You can go direct to the site via any Internet connected PC or laptop by using the BankCV.com website address. If you cannot get to a PC you can ring our Applicant support number on 020 8755 2000 and register your CV over the phone.
1.2 Can I register my CV anywhere?

top

In our days of modern technology, as long as you are connected to the Internet, you can register your CV anytime, anywhere.
1.3 How much does it cost?

top

Registering your CV is free and so are all the facilities that applicants can view on the website. Any updates you may do or even removing your CV will not incur any charge.
1.4 Who gets to see my CV?

top

Confidentiality is the key part of BankCV's service. Only the firms listed in the "Member Section" of the website can perform searches against the CV's held on the database. Only Banks and Brokers in the City can become members of this service and they have to uphold our terms of business and conditions or be removed from database access. No recruitment agents or Head Hunters can see the comprehensive list of CV's. This service is placing your CV directly in front of the hiring member firms.
1.5 How do I know that my CV is not being touted round the market?

top

BankCV Recruitment Limited is an independent firm who do not offer career advice nor raise revenue from external advertising. We do not perform searches on the database unless a member firm requests it and therefore any searches carried out are by member Banks/Brokers who have a genuine interest in seeing your CV. Finally, the CV's found in search results cannot be used by that member firm for any other reason than to interview applicants held on the database.
1.6 What protection do I have that BankCV.com is a secure site?

top

Both Members and Applicants get passwords, which can be changed by contacting the BankCV Customer Support Departments. The database is protected by heavy firewalls and other safeguard measures.

1.7 What stops recruitment agents or Head Hunters from getting my CV?
Only firms that are involved in the Investment Banking and Securities Industry can subscribe to this service. This service was created to save time for the applicant and to speed up the interview process by going direct to the Member firm that is hiring. Recruitment agencies and such like are not deemed end clients and cannot gain access to the service.

2.2 How do I update or delete my CV?

top

We will send you by email or by phone call (depending on how you registered), a password that allows you to access your CV, and from there you can either update or delete it. You have complete control over your own personal information. A handy BankCV card is also sent to you, which lists your candidate number and name.
2.3 What happens if I have forgotten my logon name or password?

top

This happens from time to time. All you have to do is ring the customer support number and we will ask you some security questions. Once they are satisfactorily answered, we will create a new password for you.  Your candidate number is also stored on your BankCV card for future reference.
2.4 I don't have a PC or access to the Internet - how do I register?

top

Not being part of the Internet revolution is no reason to miss out on getting your CV in front of those banks and brokers! As mentioned above, you can ring in your details or send that CV to us by mail. For CV's sent by mail, we will send you your password information.
2.5 What happens after I register?

top

Once your CV is registered, it will go into our online database. From there, all the listed members will be able to search for prospective hires and if your CV data matches the criteria they are searching for, then your CV will appear in the search result.
2.6 How do I know my CV is being looked at?

top

We will be in touch regularly via e-mail to let you know how many "searches" there were on your CV (This feature is due to be implemented soon after launch). We may also include some other pertinent information that will hopefully be of use to you.
2.7 What stops rogue CV's entering the database?

top

There are many ways to try and register erroneous CV's. We are using custom data validation methods which will identify such rogue CV's. Personal data is checked thoroughly and we will also operate a ring-back security check system too. Some of the CV's registered will undergo random checks by third party companies to provide an independent verification source.

Your CV's are being placed via this service directly in front of the hiring banks and brokers. If you are going to falsify your CV, be aware that the end employers will find out

2.8 How do I recommend a friend to use this service?

top

After you have completed the online CV registration, there is a "question box" that asks you to recommend a friend to use this site. Please fill in their e-mail addresses and we will send them a polite e-mail explaining the service.

Or, just tell them to go to BankCV.com!

2.9 Can I exclude my CV from any searches by certain Banks/Brokers?

top

When you register your CV with us, you can at any stage exclude searches by any Member firm that you do not wish your CV to be visible to. This means that if the excluded firm made a search, they would not be able to see your CV even if you matched their criteria. You can of course change whom your CV is visible to at any time by logging on to the website and updating your CV details.

2.9b What if I place my CV online just after a member has searched for a job?

top

When a Member performs a search they have the ability to see all new CV’s that match the search regardless of when the search was executed. In this way, your CV can be put forward to members who performed searches before you registered.

Interview Request Function
3.1 What's this "interview request function" I keep hearing about?

top

One of the ways we protect your personal data is by making sure any member searching for CV information only sees non-personal data.

If the member has had a successful search and wishes to interview 5-10 of the collated CV's, they send us an Interview Request email (an automatic facility provided between BankCV.com and the members.

This request is then split into separate data portions and BankCV then contact each person listed by e-mail or phone depending on their registration method.

3.2 What do I see when I get an "Interview Request"?

top

You will receive an email from BankCV that states either that x firm is interested in seeing you for x job, or that x firm has an interest in interviewing you. Some firms may include their names and the job description they are seeking to fill, but others may be more restrictive. What you must remember is that if you receive an interview request e-mail, it is worth checking out as the "end sender" is a bank or broker actively looking for staff and therefore unlikely to waste your time.
3.3 What happens if I say YES to the Interview Request?

top

If you say YES to BankCV's interview request e-mail, you will be giving BankCV permission to release your personal details. This information is then passed on to the end client requesting the interview. They should make contact with you directly.
3.4 What happens if I say NO to the Interview Request?

top

If you say NO then we will automatically advise that member that "x" applicant (and you are only visible as an applicant number) is not interested and we will NOT release your personal information. A small questionnaire can be completed if you wish to give the requesting member some information as to why you have said no.
3.5 How do you stop Members from abusing the release of personal info
via this function?

top

Every time a member of the service wishes to send an "interview notification e-mail" to the end CV holders, the member has to notify BankCV.com with the job description being searched for. BankCV will periodically check with such "notified applicants" whether or not any contact was forthcoming from the requesting member and if not, contact the member to see why not. It is part of BankCV's terms and conditions to adhere to its strict data protection terms and failure to do so will result in the termination of that member's access.
Applicant End Benefits
4.1 Who sees my CV again?

top

When you register your CV, you will be placing it in front of all the members listed in our "Member Section". We anticipate the majority of the Investment Banking and Securities Industry will take up this service. NO other "recruitment" site has the market experience or contacts that we have and use to make sure your CV gets in front of the hiring firms. Remember the key part: no recruitment agencies or head hunters can access this site. Your CV goes directly to the end employer
4.2. What's the "Hot Searches" section about?

top

This area will show the current departments that are being searched on regularly by the members.  Updated bi-monthly, it will give you a quick snapshot on possible hiring patterns.
4.3 Any other benefits?

top

We will be expanding the services offered to CV applicants after we have rolled out and launched our other sites. Please keep checking the BankCV.com website for further info.

4.4 Any events or competitions?

top

Apart from the special "hotspot" events we will be holding weekly around London, keep tuned in to the website for competition announcements around the launch date.
